Microsoft Stream (on SharePoint) allows you to record, upload, discover, share and manage videos across Microsoft 365 apps. This integration gives you the same experience no matter where you share or store videos.

With Microsoft Stream  (on SharePoint), you can record, upload, discover, share and manage videos just like any other file. 

Features and Benefits

Microsoft Stream (on SharePoint) simplifies video management, enhances collaboration, and ensures videos are treated like any other content within the Microsoft ecosystem.  Upload, share and watch videos wherever you’d like in Microsoft 365 (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive or Office). 

  • Record your screen and yourself: You can create explainer videos by recording yourself and the screen. You can also add text, drawings, and effects to personalize your videos.
  • Teams meeting recordings: You can review what you missed with Teams meeting recordings.
  • Share and collaborate: You can share videos and exchange feedback easily with comments and @mentions. 
  • Collaboration: Share videos to specific groups within the University or with external users.  Share specific links to videos or create a destination to feature videos in Sharepoint, or Teams. 
  • Detailed analytics: You can measure the engagement and effectiveness of your video content with detailed analytics. 
  • Accessibility features: You can view videos with accessibility features such as transcripts, close captions, chapters, noise suppression and speed controls.
  • Security and compliance controls: You can manage videos just like documents and benefit from the security, admin controls, retention policies and compliance available within Microsoft 365.

To Access

Microsoft Stream can be accessed:

  • Via the  web version.
  • At Microsoft 365 Office. Sign in with your university email address. Select the app launcher at the top-left under all apps or scroll down on the page to find Stream.
