The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) offers a fully online degree option that provides students an opportunity to construct an individualized degree program. The online Bachelor of Arts Individually Structured Major — Integrated Studies (ISM) is designed to help students integrate previously completed coursework to design a customized major. It is especially helpful for students who have switched majors, colleges or institutions, and are looking for a meaningful way to complete their degree.
The Integrated Studies online degree option delivers a liberal arts and sciences education tailored to the demands of our ever-changing world, providing maximum flexibility in coursework while delivering high-level critical thinking and comprehensive learning. Since this program is available fully online, you can maximize your time and fit your education goals into your schedule. And online courses are taught by the same faculty as the on-campus courses, so you'll receive the same quality instruction.
Students who pursue Integrated Studies make new connections among the courses they have already taken and develop innovative ways of approaching challenging questions. Students will develop interdisciplinary skills that will help them solve real-world problems. Interdisciplinary programs encourage students to synthesize the theories, methods and analytical perspectives of diverse disciplines to bring new ways of understanding to particular themes or problems.

The Integrated Studies Online Option requires a total of 120 credits, and students must have already completed 60 credits to declare this major. This dynamic new program allows students to create their major by combining two course clusters from the same or different schools/colleges.
Requirements:

The completion timeline for this degree varies greatly because students can transfer in courses from previous accredited universities.

Courses at CU Denver are offered three times a year — fall, spring and summer. Not all courses are available every semester. For most programs, courses last 15 weeks, plus one week for finals. This is a big commitment, but we believe the extra time you spend dedicated to your studies pays off.
