  • Explain foundational concepts associated with core business disciplines, including accounting, economics, finance, business statistics, operations management, business law, organizational behavior, marketing, information technology, and global strategy.

Tuition and Fees

Investing in your future is a big decision. However, becoming a fully online student at CU Denver is an affordable option with discounted tuition rates for non resident, fully online students. And of course, you will save money not having to drive to campus! Tuition and fees are based largely on the class that you enroll in.

Tuition and fees for Bachelor of Arts in Communication

Curriculum

The online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) curriculum consists of 120 credit hours, comprised of business classes and liberal arts classes to give you a well-rounded education.

CU Denver Core (34 hours)

You’ll be educated in English, math, behavioral and social science, humanities, international perspectives, and cultural diversity.


General Non-Business Courses (12 hours)

These courses are taken outside of the Business School but support a stronger awareness of disciplines relevant to business studies.

Course topics include:

  • Professional speaking
  • Microeconomics
  • Business writing
  • Experiential learning

Experiential Learning

This requirement can be satisfied by a study abroad, internship, or project-based course in the management department. Past study abroad trips included innovation in Cuba, sports and entertainment in London, and leadership in Dubai.

Business Core (36 hours)

Your business classes will take you through the hard and soft skills necessary to succeed in business.

Course topics include:

  • Career and professional development
  • Business statistics
  • Business problem solving
  • Business law and ethics
  • Operations management
  • Marketing
  • Business policy and strategy management
  • Managing of individuals and teams
  • Accounting information systems
  • Finance

Major Classes (18 – 24 hours)

Explore your chosen major in accounting, management or marketing with specialized classes.

Course topics include:

Accounting

  • Intermediate financial accounting
  • Federal income tax
  • Auditing theory

Management

  • Managing people for a competitive advantage
  • Leading organizational change
  • Applied marketing management

Marketing

  • Buyer behavior
  • Internet marketing
  • Sports marketing

International Studies (3 hours)

Learn about international business environments in areas such as finance, management, marketing, and accounting.

 

Electives and/or Foreign Language Proficiency 
(11 – 20 hours)

Foreign language courses may be satisfied if you’ve taken a certain number of classes in high school. These electives give you the freedom to dive deeper into topics or courses that interest you. Required elective hours will vary depending upon chosen major and satisfaction of foreign language.
