Overview
The Early Childhood Special Education Specialist Endorsement is designed for currently licensed teachers who are seeking career advancement and the expertise needed to work effectively with students with special needs and students from diverse backgrounds.
The program is fully accredited by the Colorado Department of Education and the Council for Exceptional Children.
Nine graduate-level courses, including a five-credit internship, complete the 24 credit hour program plan of study. Internships (elementary & secondary level in special education) can be completed on the job or through our professional development schools.
Program Details
This program is perfect if you are:
- A licensed Colorado teacher who wants the training and knowledge to serve students with disabilities
- Already in possession of a Colorado general education license and wish to build on that expertise
- Looking to improve your ability to meet the needs of all learners
Many of our students go on to complete an optional Master's Degree in Special Education, which only requires four additional classes.
