Ready Your Agency for Emergency Response 

About the Class

This interactive class is for decision makers to develop and/or enhance an agency emergency preparedness and response plan. This plan could be incorporated into an existing emergency/safety plan or be designed to stand-alone. The facilitator will lead attendees through activities and templates to create agency specific policies, plans and procedures for an effective emergency preparedness and response plan using the Centers for Medicaid & Medicaid Services Emergency Preparedness Rule as a guideline. This class is currently offered virtually and takes place in 2 parts. Spanish translation is available.

Target Audience

Decision makers such as agency administrators, safety managers, the person who writes plans for your agency.

Objectives

  • Review an emergency preparedness and response plan template
  • Document agency specific demographics
  • Develop policies and procedures for staff, mitigation, agency preparedness, agency response, agency recovery
  • Understand Hazard Vulnerability and Risk Assessment
  • Understand how to use a Disaster Response Team
  • Develop a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)
  • Develop a Emergency Communications Plan
  • Develop an Emergency Preparedness Training Plan
  • Develop an Emergency Preparedness Exercise (Drill) Plan
